Issue 2.3 featuring Yukie Yasui and Amanda Hendricks





Abe's Peanut Issue 2.3 was created in collaboration with LittleCollector. Story by Amanda Hendricks, illustrations by Yukie Yasui. In addition to the postcard collaboration, Abe's Peanut and LittleCollector produced a storytime, singalong and arts and crafts event on August 6, 2011 at CMANY's Governors Island Outpost. About the artists:

Yukie Yasui graduated from Tama Art University in Tokyo. After working in Tokyo for several years, she moved to New York with her husband in 1997. While raising two daughters, Yukie worked as an illustrator and later joined her husband's company, Moon & Snow Inc. as an Illustrator and Planner. She creates children's books, works on animation, websites, TV commercials and advertisements. Yukie illustrated two children's books titled, "Fairy Anna and Me, Cooking Lesson" and "Fairy Anna and Me, Cooking Party Strategy".

Amanda Hendricks is a writer, museum educator, folk artist, baker of tasty treats, yogini, and most importantly, a new mom from Brooklyn, New York. She received her M.A. in Art History and Criticism from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. For the past three years, she has been writing for Learning through an Expanded Arts Program (LEAP). She is committed to engaging children of all ages in the creative process. She is currently the Education Consultant for Art 101 at Little Collector.
